Fluorine Application
In children, a fluoride-containing gel or varnish is applied to the surface of the teeth to prevent tooth decay. The gel is placed in the mouth using a spoon. Wait 1-5 minutes. Afterward, the child should not eat or drink anything for 30 minutes. The varnish is applied directly to the tooth surface with a small brush and dries within minutes. The child should not brush their teeth for 4-6 hours. It can be applied starting when the first baby teeth begin to appear (around age 3). It can be applied every 6 months or annually. It is a painless, quick, and easy procedure.
