Bar-Shaped Prosthetics

Bar-Shaped Prosthetics

This is a prosthesis we perform on patients who have lost all their teeth in their upper or lower jaw. Implants placed in the jawbone are connected to each other using a rod. It is typically placed on two to four implants in the lower jaw and four or more in the upper jaw. The prosthesis is then placed on this rod. The patient can insert and remove the prosthesis, but the rod remains fixed to the implants in the patient's mouth. Patients should thoroughly clean the prosthesis, as well as the area around and under the rods.

What Are The Advantages Of Bar Prosthesis?

  • The prosthesis can be fitted at the same time as the implant.
  • Because it is bar-supported, it is more stable than the ordinary total prosthesis.
  • If damaged, it is easy to repair.
  • It is easy to clean as it can be put on and taken off.
  • The implants placed are safe because they are placed in high-quality and low-risk bone.
